Let's Read Music is a basic theory (Youtube + PDF Worksheets) curriculum for young musicians. It is geared towards instrumental musicians in their first year(s) of playing. The series is meant to be supplemental and follows along with the progression of most beginning band and orchestra books. This series falls into my mission of providing access to music FAR and WIDE. The idea is to help people read music, which then leads to the ability to MAKE MUSIC. Please share this page with everyone that might be able to use it!
Section 1 - Music Staff, Clefs, and Musical Alphabet
Section one is music from the very beginning. We talk about the music staff, the treble and bass clef, and the musical alphabet. We also apply the musical alphabet (briefly) to instruments and also to the music staff. There are worksheets to correlate with all the videos, plus some worksheets for extra practice.
Section 2 - The Measure, Note Values
Section 2 - Part 2 - Counting
Section 3 - Adding Notes and Accidentals
Not technically part of this series, but when you're ready to teach the order of flats/sharps, here's a video to help you out!
