Included in Set #6
Foundation Set #6 continues the progression toward a traditional full-ensemble warm-up, while beginning to address the specific needs of individual instrument families. Alongside unison fundamentals, flexibility exercises now allow brass players to focus on lip slurs while woodwinds work on register and octave slurs. The set continues developing range, articulation, technique, rhythmic vocabulary, and ensemble sound.
Warm-Ups
By Set #6, students are working through a complete warm-up sequence built around long tones and airflow, flexibility, articulation, technique, and ensemble playing. While the earlier Foundation sets primarily develop these concepts in unison, Set #6 begins introducing instrument-specific approaches that better prepare students for more advanced ensemble warm-up routines.
